The safety clip
Road safety has always been at the heart of automotive manufacturers’ concerns, primarily focused on protecting drivers and passengers. But what about emergency response teams?
These professionals, for whom every second can mean the difference between life and death, have never been considered in the very design of vehicles.
For people suffering from specific medical conditions requiring special care, such as hemophilia, epilepsy, or diabetes, the first minutes of intervention are crucial. Yet, in the urgency of an accident, this vital information often remains invisible to first responders.
In response to this, Citroën introduces Safety Clips: the first automotive component designed to assist emergency responders.

"AT A TIME WHEN ALL MANUFACTURERS ARE CREATING ACCESSORIES TO PLEASE THEIR CUSTOMERS, WE ARE INTRODUCING THE FIRST ONE THAT COULD POTENTIALLY SAVE OUR DRIVERS’ LIVES."
Thierry Koskas - CEO of Citroën
"THESE PROTOTYPES REPRESENT A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO INTEGRATE THE NEEDS OF EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAMS INTO OUR SAFETY THINKING, IN SERVICE OF OUR CUSTOMERS."
Pierre Leclercq - Citroën Design Director
In the long run, the initiative will be introduced to all emergency centers in France, allowing response teams to integrate this new device into their protocols. The Safety Clips are now in the final testing phase and will soon be available for all Ë-C3 owners.
This innovation reflects our belief that automotive design can and should serve the safety of all. A concrete way to prove that a small detail can make a big difference.
